In preparation for their 9-11 memorial concert, the Mustang Bands heard from Dave Herman, a Vietnam Veteran, about the sacrifices made by veterans and those currently serving in the military.
The Lakewood Middle School Mustang Bands will present a concert on Monday, September 12, at 7:00 PM in memory of those who lost their lives 10 years ago in the 9-11 attacks and in honor of those who have served and currently serve in the armed forces. The concert will take place at Lakewood Middle School outside by the flagpole. Audience members will need to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.
The theme of the concert is September 12: The Day America Came Together. The concert will feature patriotic music and music for reflection. As part of the event, the American Legion Riders from Salina Post 62 will conduct a flag-folding ceremony. The Lakewood Jazz Band will perform before the concert at 6:45 PM.
