Greetings St. Regis Families!
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this evening’s 6th -8th grade Meet the Teacher event at St. Regis, so here’s a short message to say “hi!” and share some important information with you about our Academy music opportunities at St. Regis.
- The St. Regis Music Calendar is attached. Please mark them on your calendar if your student is participating in Academy Band or Academy Ambassadors. More information will be sent out as dates are finalized and leading up to each event for those involved.
-
At the Academy level, music students take the skills they developed in elementary school and apply them to more advanced vocal or instrumental music, depending on their area of interest.
-
We also have three Academy level musical ensembles that are active outside the school day that your child might be interested in participating in. If your student would like to develop their musical skills but don’t feel like there is a home for them in either the band or the choir because they play a different instrument (piano, guitar, violin, etc), please contact me so we can find the right fit.

The St. Regis Academy Ambassadors is a vocal performance ensemble for St. Regis students in grades 5-8. This group performs advanced music and develops guitar skills using the ukulele. These students may also sit in the choir loft during assigned All School Mass and lead the singing. They rehearse on Thursdays when the front doors open 7:50-8:20am and perform 2-3 times per semester in addition to Mass. Any student wishing to participate needs to attend weekly rehearsals.
- The St. Regis Academy Band is for students who wish to enrich their musical development on a band instrument (flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone). These students contribute their musical talents at scheduled All School Masses as well as 2-3 performances per quarter (assemblies, field trips, etc). They rehearse on Tuesdays when the front doors open 7:50-8:20am. Any student wishing to participate needs to attend weekly rehearsals and have a working instrument. Some instruments are available to rent from the school. Please contact me if you need help getting an instrument.
-
The St. Regis Marching Band is a 4th quarter ensemble for band students who want to participate in the parade at CedarPoint in Sandusky, Ohio on Friday, May 16. There will be 4 scheduled morning rehearsals leading up to the event. Additional details will be sent out at a later date.

Thank you for everything you do to support your child’s musical development. Please let me know if you have any questions.
