Senior Spotlight – Katie Stebbins

Katie Stebbins has been involved in band, choir, Encore!, Cabaret, and musicals during her high school career. In band, she has been the clarinet section leader and performed in marching band, pep band, and concert band. Her favorite memory in band was “Marching in every show and doing the cadence in and out! Also having fun at band camp.” In choir, she has performed in the alto and the soprano sections, performing solos each year at Cabaret, and also participating in Encore! Katie has been involved in the musical each year, even participating as a middle school student. She has held roles in “The Wizard of Oz,” “Seussical! The Musical,” “The Sound of Music,” and has also participated behind the scenes and back stage with makeup, stage crew, and student director responsibilities. After graduating, Katie plans to work at Vancrest Nursing Home. Of her participation in the Patrick Henry music program, Katie says, “I learned to play an instrument and love what I do with no shame. It has made me a better person by learning to make friends and have an open heart and mind about everything.”
